When we began discussions with the James Ballentine VFW Post 246, in the popular Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis, it was in the middle of a $1.5 million expansion and renovation that would modernize the post and dramatically increase the number of patrons they could serve.
They needed a website that would not only showcase their new facility, but also promote their events and menu offerings. They also needed to manage online ticket sales and be able to easily update the site with new promotions and events. With a goal of increasing membership, they needed a site that would tell their story and connect the local veteran community. They also needed a partner that would provide technical support after the launch to continue their ROI.
After reviewing all of their digital assets, we helped VFW leaders understand that they not only needed a better website, they also needed a new brand identity. The challenge was to deliver a website and branding materials that captured the spirit of their new facility while continuing to honor their mission as a place of community for veterans.
Our developers created a customized WordPress site that is mobile responsive and showcases their facility and events with strong visual elements. We integrated Ticketfly to offer ticket sales directly through the site and included functionality that makes it possible for people to apply for membership. Because they didn’t have full control over their previous site, we created a new domain and hosted the site as well. We redesigned the menus and created new logos to give the post a cohesive brand identity.
The VFW is now one of the most popular destinations in the Lyn-Lake area, food and alcohol sales have increased, and by redesigning the logos and menus simultaneously, we saved the post both time and money. Integrating Ticketfly has made it easier to sell tickets and highlight upcoming shows and events. Their website has become a source of pride in the VFW community and has helped further the post’s mission while streamlining daily operations.
