Job Description:
As our Art Director, you will lead our creative team to create beautiful and functional websites and a variety of other design projects in support of our Marketing Department that are on brand, on-trend, on time, mobile responsive, and on budget for our ideal clients. Our Art Director will manage our design process and design team members, offering mentorship, leadership, and inspiring designs for branding, websites, and marketing materials. We anticipate your time will be spent with 60% on delivery work, 30% managing team members, and 10% in pre-sales opportunities. We are a fast-growing company that runs on EOS, in addition to working towards joining the leadership team, we are looking for a creative person who can help us expand our capabilities and produce great results for our clients.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Own and grow the Evolve Systems and Evolve Payment Brands, ensuring quality, creativity and alignment
- Assist in creating, designing, and directing various materials for print and digital collateral, as well as executing delivery work on behalf of our team
- Assist in developing brand identities and brand playbooks
- Work with the pre-sales team to scope and pitch potential and current clients during the sales process
- Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
- Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences for sophisticated audiences
- Oversee the presentation of final concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables
- Experience in creating integrated content across all marketing channels: digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline, and print
- Proven ability to develop and communicate successful concepts
- Ability to articulate complex ideas in a concise and compelling manner
- Proficiency in leading and elevating a team of diverse, talented creatives, including freelancers as needed
- Strong creative vision, with an eye on business objectives
Communication:
- Keeps Director of Operations and Senior Marketing Manager well informed of the status of projects
- A superior creative eye for design
- Natural ability to facilitate and lead client-facing meetings to present design concepts both in person and virtually
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion to PMs and the leadership team, following a stoplight system (red, yellow, green light)
- Communicates industry trends to the team and clients by remaining well-informed of evolving trends and capabilities
- Works with the Marketing team on ongoing retainer opportunities to continuously nurture and grow accounts
- Prioritize work and resources across engagements, based on short- and long-term needs, and develop schedules by collaborating with designers, copywriters, and production artists
Requirements and skill qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent working experience
- Ten years of relevant experience in website UX/UI, branding, and general graphic design in an agency setting
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web
- Considerable experience using Figma, Adobe Creative Suite applications, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Canva
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and WordPress themes
- Experience in project management, with a focus on creative direction
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented and organizational skills
- Experience and familiarity with ADA compliance and SEO requirements
- An unwavering drive and curiosity for staying up-to-date with design – specifically branding, web design, and mobile application best practices – and pride yourself on state-of-the-art, on-trend techniques.
